After lunch, we split back up into our Team Araka and Team Poley Poley group to move at different paces that people were comfortable with. We trekked our way to Barranco camp which is right before what they call “the wall” of Kilimanjaro. The wall is a steep climb where you start to literally climb the actual mound of the mountain. so can’t wait for what our day will consist of tomorrow! We hiked to 15,000 feet just to hike back down to 12,800 feet. This is the way to acclimate though as we continue to work our way to the summit. We re-entered the 3rd climate zone of Kilimanjaro which is the Moorland which is somewhat desert with vegetation and some wild life. Today was definitely another tough day for everyone. They say this is the day where people end up quitting and turning around. But NOT US! We saw some people struggling. By dinner we all wanted to sleep lol we had some laughs while our guides briefed us about “The Wall”. It’s going to consist of some rock climbing! We are not allowed poles or to stop and take photos for our safety and definitely no stops for the bathroom 😂They said this is the most dangerous part of Kilimanjaro. Only 3 more sleeps until summit night. It keeps getting closer 😁
