Day 3 was an easier climb. We woke up at sunrise and Kili was clear as day. Another beautiful sight of the mountain. Me and my 2 Dutch friends are part of the Araka Crew also known as the quick crew as my other California and Tunisia friend are part of the poley poley crew. We split up during our trek with different guides but all meet at camp and eat together! We made our way to Shira 2 camp. We ate a delicious lunch of chicken, vegetables with a honey Dijon mustard sauce and French fries. Every meal we have is a hot meal and has been absolutely delicious. They make sure you don’t go hungry and make you eat more. They say the best way to get use to the altitude besides climbing is to eat enough and drink a minimum of 3 liters of water. It’s another beautiful day to see Kilimanjaro. After lunch we are going to trek higher to trick our bodies into the altitude and then return to camp to sleep. We are sleeping at 12,000 +ish feet and I do not feel the altitude that much so hoping it continues a little bit more.
